Vista Mesa Assisted Living Cortez Colorado

Terri Schmitt, Executive Director
I have been a nurse for over 15 years, and my love lies in working with the elderly. I believe in hard work and dedication, and Serving Others with kindness and a smile. My family and I have made the Cortez community our home, and we would love to share our home at Vista Mesa with you and your family.

Linda Carter, Director of Admissions
When I was four years old, I helped my mother care for my grandmother. I had no idea that experience would bring me to a career working with the elderly. I feel blessed for all the residents who have touched my heart over the past 20 years in nursing home social work and now in assisted living care. I love this job! I am committed to this community as a musician and am often asked to sing at many funerals and other events.

Brenda Wright, Administrative Coordinator
I have a passion for the elderly and serving them is my true calling. I feel that my job is to walk through the admission process with family and the resident and to offer them hope and will continue serving our residents and families with the highest standards.

Darrell Coppinger, Maintenance Director / Safety Officer
After working in other places and occupations, it is so fulfilling to make a difference in our residents' lives.

Rita Berry, Dietary Director
I have over 25 years experience in customer service, and 2 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant and QMAP (Qualified Medication Administration Personnel). It has been very rewarding and fulfilling to care for the nutritional needs of our residents, and I am passionate about keeping them healthy. We enjoy putting smiles on the faces of the residents and families alike. I am very grateful for our dedicated staff and food service.

Rayna Hale, Activity Director
I love keeping people active and healthy! I have over 25 years experience as a coach and fitness trainer. I am licensed by American College Sports Medicine, and have a variety of other certifications for fitness programs. I have enjoyed many years working with all ages from toddlers to adults ~ and now have the pleasure and challenge to direct senior programs for Vista Mesa residents. My training as a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Qualified Medication Administration Personnel has provided a strong background for this type of work, and my years of experience have enlightened me with a tremendous amount of understanding. This is the job for me! In my free time I am very active outdoors, and my enthusiasm for good health spills over to the residents.
